Forest Maintenance Activities in Iizuna Town, Nagano Prefecture

SHINKO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES CO., LTD. (“the Company”) hereby announces that it conducted forest maintenance activities in forests owned by Iizuna Town, Nagano Prefecture.
The Company has participated with SHINKO WORKERS UNION in the adopt-a-forest program promoted by Nagano Prefecture and they have conducted forest maintenance under the cooperation of Iizuna Town, based on the “adapt-a-forest program agreement” concluded with the town in 2014. In October last year, 10 years after the start of these activities, they extended the agreement with the town and, as a company deeply rooted in the local community, the Company decided to further promote these forest maintenance activities in continuous cooperation with the Union, positioning again these activities as important social contribution and environmental conservation activities.
These forest maintenance activities are conducted twice a year, in spring and fall, around Lake Reisenji in Iizuna Town. About 90 people, consisting of its employees and their families, participated in the latest activities held on May 31 this year, and planted 500 Quercus serrata trees and maintained a walking trail.
In line with the “Shinko Way,” which embodies corporate vision, values to be cherished and principles, and “Environmental Vision 2050,” the Company has contributed to help to enrich the lives of people all over the world through advanced products and technologies and has long been committed to reducing its environmental impact as a responsibility of a manufacturing company. Going forward, through these activities in Iizuna Town, it will continue to work together with the Union to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society while addressing climate change through CO2 absorption, in addition to biodiversity conservation.
